Password Issue M5521 Imac

A kind lady actually gave me an Imac M5521 (G3?), and I brought it home to see if my kids could use it for internet, emails.

Of course, there are passwords that I don't know. I read one post here that said to boot up with the system software, etc. However, I don't have the original software. I tried using another OS X system startup software, 9.2 I believe, and the M5521 keeps rejecting the CD.

Anyone know why or if there's a fix? Thanks.

If it's from a G5, it's probably just the "classic" disk, which is not a system disk. You need a generic 9.2 disk, or a 10.2, 10.3 or 10.4 disk. 10.3 or .4 would be best, OS 9 is not supported by much of anything anymore.
