I have a pb 1400cs with Mac OS 9. The floppy drive does not work. i need to get drivers for an Ethernet card to it. I have the drivers on floppy. i don’t have a CD drive. The processor is the original 117 MHz 603e. I know the card is pb 1400 compatible because there was an Mac laptop compatibility list.

i do not have a storage pc card.

i dont have another laptop with an ir sencer

 Talk about a predicament! :p

Does your PowerBook 1400cs have a modem? You might have to use that with your ISP and patiently download the drivers from the card manufacturer. It will be painfully slow but it will work.

well, there are 2 other things you could do, if you have the right cables, and another mac, put the laptop into scsi disk mode and copy the files over. the only other thing would to be for you to pull the harddrive out, put it in an enclosure, and copy the files to it that way. good luck.

i dont have eather of those. i do have a pb 165. i would stick the hd in that if it had a ide hd controler. the 1400 hd has been in a pb 150. the only problem is that it is not mine. the person who gave me the 1400 owns the 150. i have no other macs than the 1400 and 165. i dont have a mac on the internet. i hate pc's and have to use one to get on the internet. i want to get the 1400 on the internet so i dont have to use pcs

i could make a ram disk with the 1400 hd in the 150 and boot of the ram disk and copy files from the driver floppy onto the 1400 hd...
it is just hard to see the screen on the 150.

also it is hard to get access to the 150. and the 150 shuts off alot because the power connector is loose
