PB G4 built-in Airport Extreme can't find networks

For some odd reason, my 2-year old Powerbook G4 15-inch is having a hard time finding networks in range, even when other PCs can find them with no problems. The networks are either 802.11b or 802.11g.

is there some kind of firmware update (I had no luck in my searches) that I'm missing?

Have you tried enabling interface robustness in the Airport card configuration? You can do this in System Preferences-->Network, select your Airport card to configure and enable it.

Are you browsing for networks using Automatic or are you setting locations?

Try iStumbler on versiontracker.com to help aid your wireless access point search.

I find sometimes just turning airport off and then on again (in the menubar) clears any wireless weirdness. I've got three other wireless points near me that I have to make sure I don't log on to. :)

I'll give it a shot when I get home. Thanks :)
