I hate Meath
I was in Gatwick airport last weekend on a stopover with some time to kill so I went into London city, after a couple of hours looking around I still had some time so I wandered into a PC World. Poking around the shop I noticed some pc repair kits, you know the kind, usually has things like spanners and small screwdrivers in it. PC World were proudly displaying their new kits complete with among many other thinks...a hammer! Just what do they think people are going to do with a hammer inside a computer case? Of course it could be for hitting it with....

Must be, or to hit one's own head for buying the stupid thing ;)

That's so cool! And I guess you would need it. You'll need to hit something after your computer doesn't work.

This is a replacement part for cases when ctrl-alt-del does not operate.

My grampa used a hammer to put in a new RAM chip. Personally, I'd turn the chip around so it'd fit the socket, but he got it in there too :D

C'mon guys. It's a PC toolkit. Why wouldn't it have a hammer. You always need a last resort :)

According to Robert Rankin (famous English writer, and a good one, too!), you'll have a few loose screws whenever you try to repair an electrical item at first try. It'll work fine, but the loose screws will drive you crazy. At this part, R. Rankin commands you to 'defenestrate' (throw out of the window) the screws (because the machine actually works...). If you try to find the places where the loose screws go, you'll end up with more or less screws, but the device will stop working again - and will not come back to life.

I guess the hammer is for people who start to notice this very fact*.
