With checking out webcams, I really dont (cant) spend $100+ on a webcam. I got a Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000 a while ago but returned it. It worked right away without installing any software with Yahoo messenger. All i want it for is to use with Yahoo Messenger. My question is, can I buy a cheaper Logitech cam, around $40 bucks, and plug it in and have it work? I know most of the System requirements that are listed with each product are for the software that comes with it, but does OSX able to recognize the cheaper cams? Any info would be greatful

Basically there is no support for any usb webcam in macosx. You will need macam or IOXperts usb webcam drivers. However, macam driver worked fine for me with my very cheap aiptek usb webcam using yahoo video. So, go for the cheapest. The videoquality of yahoo ain't that well anyway. It's not worth to pay too much money on good ones.
To be very sure, check out here:
