PC2700 powerbook ram prices

Why is a 1 GB stick of PC2700 powerbook ram so expensive? I checked on ramseeker.com that it costs $475-600 each. A 512 MB stick only costs about $87-150 each. Suppose they have to use some different size RAM?

I have 2x256MB that came standard. I'd be more happy with 1 GB of RAM so perhaps I can buy 2x512MB for about $175. But then I'd have to sell the 2x256MB somehow - I'm not sure people would want used RAM.

You'd be surprised. If someone can get a good deal for his or her computer, they'll be sure to buy it.

I bet the 1 GB sticks cost that much more because they had to figure out how to stuff that much memory onto a stick no bigger than what you already have. That's a lot of RAM for a single stick!
