PDF downloads have gotten weird...

Hello Collective Wisdom-

Why is it that when downloading a pdf file, my G4 (OSX10.3.9) doesn't estimate time remaining or tell me file size anymore? All it offers me is "?????" in place of real info. This is a recent development. Preview is my default opener.

Try changing the default opener to Reader or Acrobat Pro (whichever one you have) and see if the ?????'s get fixed. I never trust that file data anyway, but it's weird to have no numbers associated with the process.

Have you repaired permissions yet?
