I have a Powerbook G4 with intergated wireless, is there a way for me to hook up an external antenna without buying another wi-fi card? Where can I find the antenna hook up?

I'm trying to extend the range because according to Apple, my Wi-Fi signal is cut in half because of the titanium casing.

Thanks in advance.

Don't know about the airport card, but you can hack the Netgear MA401 wireless card:

Since the airport card requires the Mac to be "airport ready", which I believe implies that it has to have an antenna. And the airport cards don't seem to have any type of dedicated antenna connector, I would assume then that the antenna connects via some pins on the pccard connector itself. You can probably find the pinouts for the card to determine which ones are appropriate (or even by examining the airport cardcage). I guess there is a chance that it connects via the actual body of the card itself as well?

If you find out, please be sure to post it here as I'm sure that there are others that are interested.

Oh wait, I just popped open my Pismo and it appears that the airport card has a stubby little antenna sticking out of it. I'm not in a position to power the thing down to take a closer look, but I'll get back to you when I do.

OK, just went over to apple.com and read the instructions on adding an airport card to the pismo and it quite clearly shows where the antenna plugs into the top of the airport card (amazing what RTFM can reveal). I would suggest simply getting access to your card to see.
