As a newbie, can I ask a question that might seem obvious to some of you?
Do Mac OS's have any equivalent of the Windows Registry - i.e. a central store where programs should save and retrieve default settings and other persistent data? I know that this can be achieved with files, of course but I just wondered if there was a recommended method / recommended place etc, like in Windows, or is each app expected to make its own proprietory arrangements?
