My forum keeps screwing up! People keep turning into moderators, everything is marked as unread, and it's impossible to post ANYTHING!

Did you just set it up? Are the people turning moderators only in the 'see who is on board now' - thing, or do they actually get the priviledges? What priviledges have you set to the normal user? Maybe those are not correct. Or then there is something wrong. What is wrong with posting then? You get error messages (with no reason) or you just can't post? I don't have experiences with fixing phpbb's, just Woltlab. But I guess the normal user priviledges could have something weird.. :(
 
we had issues running it off our schools servers. It had to do with how their PHP was set up. Nothing we could do. :(
 
damnit! yes, they get the privellages. Also, it shows that someone is online, when they're not!!!! i installed it about a week ago or less, i'm just testing it out now with a few friends...

They have _all_ the privileges? If you give them all the privileges, they can moderate. Do separate usergroups = user, moredator, super moderator, admin user. And give the normal user only the ability to edit their own threads etc. Set manually all the usergroup privileges (I wanted to show a screenshot of what I meant but it'd have been in Italian so never mind). If the normal user - group has already very limited privileges (as it should), then it's something else .. :-/

but there's still the problem of the person being logged in even though she isn't...
and it says that i'm logged in too, and i'm not:(
