Pioneer 106D Super Drive

Hi All:

I am new here, but a Mac user since the Lisa (pretty old huh?...lol).

I have read a lot about problems with the 106D and wondered if anyone has seem any solutions for the issue. Seems it won't work or work right with 10.4.3? I have a new one, uninstalled and wonder now if I should seel it on Ebal and get the newer 109? Any thoughts or comments of this 106D issue?

I have read that article and it seems it may be "Toast" or software issues, but as usual, Mac-Fix_it offers no solutions. I too have a dual G-4 and am ready to upgrade to the newer 10.4.3, but always hesitant as when everything works now, why change> All long time Mac users know what I mean? Way back when Apple changed systems software and we all had to go out and but 100% new software to use. Thank Heavens that has stopped!
