Playback Quicktime to DV (video recorder/TV) ?

Hi,

I am using a ADVC100 card to edit old VHS movies on my Mac, using iMovie. Works great. From within iMovie I can play back the final movie (still in DV format) to my TV, and the quality is perfect. To reduce the size I intend to convert the result to DVD or to MPEG4 quicktime movies.

Since iMovie is not able to import QT movies:

once I have a MPEG4 QT movie, or a DVD, how do I play back again to my TV (using the DV connection just as from within iMovie)?

Does anyone know if QT Pro has this feature?

Thanks, Gator.

QuickTime player in QuiakTime Pro lets you export a movie as a DV stream.

I know, that's why I finally bought QT Pro. :D

Thanks for the info,

With QT pro, can you direct the DV stream directly to the firewire port, or do you have to save it in DV format first?

I've not found any way to stream video out via firewire except through iMovie. Pretty disappointing.

Furthermore my recommendation is to stay away from the MP4 export in QT6. I've had nothing but terrible quality at too-high bit rates.
