Don't Tread on Me!
I've been having troubles with My Trash ever since I installed Snax. When I move an item to Trash it places it in the correct ~/.Trash folder. I know because I can see this in the terminal. When I try to delete from the Dock however, there is nothing in the trash can. I used to have some different items in the trash that I could not get rid of, so I clicked the trash can and dragged the items from the trash folder to the terminal and found that the items were in the hidden folder /Applications/.Trashes. ?? I did not know there was a ,Trashes folder here. Is this correct? Should I get rid of it? I also found a folder called Trash in the /Applications directory. Is this supposed to be here? Should I remove it? I have had problems with mystery folders pooping up in this directory that should be elsewher. I believe the problem lies in the fact that my Applications directory is on a different Volume and that volume is mounted from /etc/fstab at boot time. Every once in awhile, I'll install somethinf new and weird folders end up here or in my User directory, which is also a seperate volume mounted by fstab. Does this sound crazy? Is there something wrong with this method of putting Folders on seperate volumes that I'm missing?
