i know this isnt really a direct mac rumor or news article.. but it concerns dvd writers... and this new plextor drive is damn fast... now THIs is what i want for my new powermac G5

Yes it looks like an awesome drive, however the 12x speed (as of now) is only for dvd+r, which isn't technically supported by apple. But it is just a matter of time before dvd-r reaches that speed.
