ok, This is the 2nd time I am posting this, maybe my wording was not clear the first time.

My problem is with Finder view/sort by:

I understand how to view and sort by the "Icon, List, Colums and Cover" and then by Name, Size etc.

By my problem is when I am in say, "View by List" and sorting by Name. I get some files above and below folders, depending on the names.

But is there any way to make this work like MS Windows "yes I know I said it", where sorting by name will list ALL folders first in alphabetical order and then the files below them in alphabetical order?

Plz Plz help, this is driving me nuts, and yes I am new to Mac.

Thanks a mil,
Jason

When you set it to view by list, click on the "Kind" column. That should arrange it in the matter that you are looking for.

You can also set this for Finder windows by doing the following:
  1. Open a Finder window.
  2. Once that window is open, click on the View-->Show View Options on the menubar.
  3. Click on the "All windows" button (if you want this set for all Finder windows), check the "Keep arranged by" checkbox, select "Kind" on the drop-down list.

Hope this helps.
