What happens to mail sent to a POP account once service is cancelled with the associated ISP-- does it dissolve into the ether or get returned to sender, or is there a grace period during which time messages to a defunct account may still be retrieved? My network is migrating from Road Runner to Verizon, and while right now we can receive mail addressed to both domains when connected to either ISP, one of our users is concerned lest she should not be able to access mail addressed to her RR account once we have terminated that service. Of course I advised her just to send out a change-of-email to all her contacts, but that has not assuaged her anxiety.
Any enlightenment/ past experiences would be appreciated.
ThanX!
