postfix is running but not logging

I'm running Postfix on Mac OS X Server. Everything is fine with postfix, but he is not logging. There are also no system logs. I mean there are logs, but both are empty. Does anyone has a clue what this could be?

I restarted syslogd, this solved the problem. But there is still the question where it came from and how to solve it for the future.
