postscript driver for OSX

I am using the AdobePS 8.6 English postscript driver from Classic to run an Encad NovaJet 500 plotter through a Fiery at work. This machine is about 11 years old. We thought we had lost the driver, but I was turned on to the Adobe driver which says that it only works with OS8, but that's not true.
Any other work-arounds or knowledge of another driver that may allow me to print with all the 'printer specific options' from OSX? Thanks everybody--these forums have really saved my butt a few times.

Adobe's latest print driver works with MacOS 9. Some printers work better with the Adobe driver than the Apple driver for MacOS 9. Adobe does not provide a MacOS X PostScript driver. Apple's built-in MacOS X PostScript driver is used for all PostScript printers used with MacOS X. Each device uses an optional PPD file to address printer-specific features. PPD files are OS-agnostic. A MacOS 8 PPD file will work just fine in MacOS X or even Windows, for that matter. If your plotter requires a host-based PostScript RIP, then it will not work on MacOS X unless the vendor ports the RIP to MacOS X. If, however, your plotter communicates with your computers via a PostScript/PostScript clone print server, then you should have no problems.

I've heard that PPDs made for WindowsNT work with OS X - is that maybe available? (To get the options you want)
