Power Mac G5 PSU DEAD

I have been given a dual 2.5ghz g5 (2004) which the PSU iwas told is dead.

The history of machine is - Machine was left on all night came down and it was dead, no power and would not turn on. I was told by Apple Shop that there was no power coming from PSU.

So i ordered another and fitted it and nothing happened. Turns out the power supply supplied to me was a 450watt instead of a 600watt.

So the question is even though the 450watt PSU was fitted in the machine would the machine show any signs of life. i.e fans going or green light on button as i got nothing?

Those units will not power on sometimes if both processors are not seated correctly. But otherwise, although I've never tried a 450W PSU in a unit that called for a 600W PSU, I'd get the right PSU for sure.
