Just like my title says I'm powering on a early macbook, I happen to have no battery just plug it in. So far it did this both times I've turned on the mac today I'm on it now in the second boot. I hit the power button the white light comes on and stays on , screen is black, then about 20 seconds later it will chime. My lcd is cracked and in no way is visible I've been using the mac like this for awhile (external display). It does always load the os x and everything is fine HD checks out. I don't have test discs that came with just my retail snow leopard, plus it's a pain to get to the installer menu with a cracked screen. Any thoughts? thanks.
