Powerbook 17" batter life & sleep time

55-watt-hour lithium prismatic battery (with integrated charge indicator LED's) providing up to 4.5 hours of battery life.

So, if the machine is new, and the battery actually works as is supposed to, you would get at least 4 hours sleep time, maybe even 4.5 hours.

If you look on the Apple boards, you'll see a lot of people complainign about the battery life.
 
Yup - the battery life sucks. Its official. But enough complaining - I just had Software Update download me a 'Battery Update' ... it promises to increase battery performance. But then Steve Jobs 'promised' (I use the term loosely) that the PB12" had the same battery life as the iBook. Which it doesn't. But I'm a sucker for Apple - so I'll reserve final judgement until next week by which time I'll be able to tell whether the Battery Update kept its promise :)
