Hi folks.
So, short version of a long story, my powerbook (12" 867- see my sig) has been partially broken (no cd drive, no firewire) for a couple of months as i was too busy with work to be able to sen it off. I finally sent it off under applecare last week and got it back yesterday.
Its all fine, except when i plug in an external monitor- which works but everything looks yellow. The monitor i'm using (an old 17" Formac 17/250) works fine when i plug it into my older G4 tower, so i don't think its the CRT, similarly, the lcd screen on the powerbook looks fine so i don't think its the video board.
I've repaired permissions, restarted, changed the resolution of the second display and fiddled with the monitor built in colour settings but no improvement. I also tried to calibrate the monitor in the displays panel, but it won't let me calibrate the second monitor as "the factory profile of the display cannot be found". Finally i left it overnight to see if it would go away naturally, but low and behold it is still yellow this morning.
So the only two things that could go wrong it seems are the adapter to plug the vga monitor into the powerbook or the video out port on my supposedly repaired computer. I'm trying to borrow other adapter from a friend but becoming increasingly concerned that my machine is not as fixed as it should be.
I think i've tried all i can, but any other ideas? I'm really hoping there is something obvious i've forgotten so i don't have to send my machine off again.
Cheers
