My ac adapter died a few days ago for some reason. (G4 Titanium 1GHz 15.2") It was $79 for a new one!! :(

How did you know it died? And if this was a relatively new purchase, you should have called Apple.

Was it a new adapter that died, or your original? If it was new, then you should exchange it for a nondefective product, and if it was the original get a new one with your warranty.

It happenned on a Friday and I couldn't wait. Apple store in SF isn't open until 2004. It was a hard to get to Emeryville. I know because it wouldn't charge. I went to Macadam and used one of theirs and it did.

It was the original. I bought the laptop off a friend so I don't know how the whole warranty thing works. It was a weekend too, I could wait for shipping. (all my pc's are in storage.)

I'm just whining. It's a 8 month old laptop. Just would never figure something would fail on an Apple. :p

Why not? Stuff fails on Apple computers all the time. It's just that Macs have the lowest rate of problems of all PC manufacturers in the world. My mom's iBook adapter died (an Indigo clamshell iBook), and she had to replace it. It happens.

You live in Frisco? Then there should be plenty of Mac stores. Go to CompUSA or something, and ask them for an adapter.

Make sure you call Apple and have the adapter replaced under warranty. Now you'll have a spare, or try to return the new one if you can.
