Powerbook and Powermac question

I'm limited on space in my house and although I love my Powermac (spec below) I'm stewing with the idea of selling it and buying a 15" Powerbook, I don't really use the full potential of the Powermac but all I need is something with a 1gb+, 512mb RAM, DVD Writer and Wifi, if I sell my Powermac with 19" TFT I should have a enough for the above but my main concern is what are the Powerbooks like compared to iBook as I've had two iBooks and they were nothing but problems, whats the difference between the Ti and Al versions, also how would I find the Powerbook compared to my Powermac.

I use my Powermac for: Safari, Mail.app, iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie and Burning DVD's

Just want to make sure I'm making the right decision before I make a mistake.

Thanks in advance

All I can tell you is, I love my PB. I can't compare it to the iBook, since I have not used one in awhile.

The TI PB shared one common problem, and that is the hinges on the display. With normal wear & tear, many have experienced trouble, and parts & repairs can be costly. Although I used mine for almost three years with out this problem. Secondly, the TI PB used a similar keyboard as the older Ibook, that was designed to open up, underneath you would place the airport card, etc. With usage, they are likely to bend or warp slightly in the middle. Compared to the Al PB keyboards, I feel the Al keyboard is the best for any laptop I am familiar with.
Performance wise, of course a newer model is going to be better. Most likely with a AL you are going to get the latest technology in ports, included firewire 800, and USB 2.0, faster memory, etc.
I had no complains with my TI PB, as it ran Tiger with out a problem, and performed well through out. One feature I liked about my TI PB is the ports were all located on the back of the computer, which made it look a little neater on the desktop, that is just a opinion.
In the end, my advice is to look into the Al PB. Not because the TI is no good, just because it is newer, and its life expectancy is going to longer.
