Powerbook can't connect to the Internet via airport

My airport and internet worked fine until I connected with the wireless network of my university. Now back home my powerbook doesn't connect to the internet anymore.

Here are the details:

I connect via airport through a router. i have the same IP address and router number as I had before when everything worked.

I have full airport signal. Network diagnostics gives me only green lights and tell me that I am connected to the internet.

Other computers with the same router number but with different IP addresses connect perfectly through the router/airport system.

BUT, when I start Safari on my G4 (OS X 10.4.6) it looks for a moment that Safari connects because you can see a little bit of the blue loading bar at the top but then it stops and Safari never gets beyond the "contacting site X" stage.

Also the updater won't connect either.

Does anyone has an idea what is wrong with my setup?

Does your router have an access list? In other words, you may have configure the router to allow your Mac to use.

I did configure the router allready and set up the access list. And that has already worked before. Just suddenly after I had logged on to another network system in school, it doesnt' work anymore.

I can get on to my network and get full airport signal but for some reason Safari and other programs cant connect to the internet.

Hi Powermac,

I got it to work. For some reason my firewall was enabled. I just had to turn it off and then my computer connected again. Nevertheless thanks a lot for your help. I appreciate it. :-)
