PowerBook G4 667 (fall 2001) or the new iMac 17"?

Would you prefer the PowerBook G4 667 (fall 2001) or the new iMac 17"?

And how do you make this decision?

The PowerBook would be nice only because of it's portability. The iMac will be faster (with a much better video card) and you've got the DVD-RW .. that's sweetness.

I'd take the powerbook. When I get from work, all I want to do is take off my pants and trade them for shorts... byebye shoes and socks.... hello ibook, lets head-on to the hammock, bed, or sofa.

In the past, whenever Apple released a new iMac I wanted it badly! Now that I've had an iBook for about two months, I only see it replaced by another portable. An iMac with a 17 inch screen?! Eh...

I'd, personally, go for the iMac. The iBook sure is nice and powerful all at the same time. But the iMac is fun, nice, powerful and extremely useful for more than 1 thing. If you run a business or are trying to start one the iMac would be more than acceptable for your situation. If you're looking for something to just mess around with though the iBook would be a nice choice.

plus there is the "cool" factor and the iMac wins that hands-down. I'd choose the iMac plus a PDA for portability.

As Xaq has said, the iMac has that 'WOW' factor in its looks. EVERYONE who has seen mine has fallen in love with it. It has helped Apple's 'Switch' campaign, let me tell you!

Yo, thanks guys... Finally, i have sold my PowerBook and now have pre-ordered the new iMac 17"! The shop said it will be arrived on Aug 16...

Btw, called Apple this morning... they said if you pick up your machine after Aug 24, it will have a full version of Mac OS X 10.2 but no OS 9 pre-installed (no OS 9 CD too)...
