hi, a friend recently gave me a powerbook g4 (used), but the resolution is awful. i've gone into the system properties and changed the res. but it doesn't make a difference (it looks like 16 color @ 640x480 res no matter the setting). here's the funny part: when i start the laptop, the screen initially shows as 1280x1024xMillions color, and then reverts to the same crappy display quality once every thing has fully loaded. i've tried looking for new OSx drivers, etc. but to no avail. please help! i dont want to have to throw this out; but, it's useless to me like this.
