powerbook hd replacement ?s

i want to put a 5400rpm drive in my tibook to speed things up a bit

will this have any signficant effects on my battery life?

can i, as someone who has built pc's in the past, install it fairly easily? i have never opened up a laptop and im a little bit afraid to...

i have noticed that newer tibooks have different looking (shiny silvered) heatsinks inside than mine (black matte) - is this purely cosmetic or is it a compensation for the faster hd?

Apple sold these Powerbooks with a 5400 rpm HD as a BTO option, so heat should be no problem.
If you have some techincal experience, you will probably have no problem doing it yourself as long as you make sure you're grounded during the whole process (to not zap any components with static electricity).
