Powerbook hinge driving me nuts!!!

Does anyone else have this problem?
when I close the lib on my powerbook the hinge doesn't always latch. As a result it pops up again, sometimes when it is on in my laptop brief, which wakes the powerbook up and wastes my battery life.

Has anyone had this problem? How was it fixed? I have a sneaking suspicion that I have to send it back to apple for repairs, but I don't want to do that (considering that it is near the end of the semester and I have papers and reports due).

Is it the 12'' powerbook you are talking about? My brother had the same problem and had to send it back. It's fine now..
 
15" powerbook.
What was the turnaround time?
Also did you take it to an apple store and have them ship it back or did you FedEx/UPS it to apple?

It's slightly different here in germany (or are you living here as well? Your signature looks like that).
He called Apple and they sent someone from FedEX to pick it up. They had everything there, so he simply gave them the powerbook and got a notice on that. After 1 week he got a call from a third party company about the trackpad. He was also complaining about the trackpad not catching all moves. Another 3 days later they delivered it back to him. So, all together maybe 10days.
 
hmmm ten days is not bad. I think I will do this after the semester is over so that I do not have to worry about classes. I live in the USA :)
