Powerbook Ti G4 - DVD-R Problems

I am having a problem with burned dvd-r media playing on my Powerbook G4.

I have 1 dvd that was burned on a Superdrive (which is apple dvd-r media) and it works fine. But I have some dvd-r's that I burned both TDK, and a few other media types and I cannot read them on my Ti.

Does anyone know of any problems with not being able to read any other media type than the Apple Junk? It's just way too expensive and I have a bunch of other dvd-r's.

Is there any firmware upgrades I can get or anything?

Appreciate the help.

Have you checked your Software Update Control Panel? Also check Apple's Web site, under the download tab. They post all their latest updates there.

Have you checked to see if those DVD's work on any other machine?

Yes the DVD's work in other machines. All of my PC's. And yes I have updated to the most recent updates from Update Control panel.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Mike

Not sure about this, but there is a difference in blank DVD's, just as there is a difference with blank CD's. It has to do with the coloring on the media itself. While blank DVD's are expensive, my thoughts on TDK belong in the trash.
I wonder if anyone else has experienced trouble with TDK's DVD-R's?
