Powermac Wireless Network Card??

Hi, I have a friend who needs to get his Powermac 7300 talking to a wireless Network Access point. I know nothing about 7300's but was wondering when trawling through ebay, what spec should I be looking out for?
His 7300 runs OS 9.1 I think.

Thanks very much for any help / advise.

The Power Mac 7300 has 3 PCI slots, so in essence any PCI wireless card will work. HOWEVER, most of these cards are supported by OS X (if at all). Nonetheless, I found some that might work with OS 9.x. These might include some third party software to allow for connection to 802.11b/a/g networks, depending on what OS and 802.11 spec the card supports.

This one is from MacMall, and is a Hawking Technologies card that supposedly will work on both Windows and Mac.

This one will work under Mac OS 8.1-9.2.2, but is only 802.11b and is currently on backorder.

Here's a link to a company that has an 802.11b driver for Mac OS 8 and 9. The catch is that you have to purchase a serial number (~$20) after a period of time, but you can download the evalutation software to see if it will work.

If you aren't too particular about which OS you run on it, you can always run Linux or *BSD on it. Most PC wireless cards should be supported in the OS (I can speak for Linux, as the kernel can be compiled for 802.11a/b/g support with PCI cards that won't work under OS X/Classic. I'm not too sure about the BSDs.)

Good luck!
