Hello!
First I want to apologize to any and all users who had trouble with beta 4 and the installer. It is now fixed and not in an installer any more.
I am excited to report that PowerText 1.0b5 is now released! It has many new features including:
Ability to edit HTML files with plain text
Ability to render an OmniWeb-like preview of HTML files
Ability to save as TEXT, RTF, RTFD, or HTML (removed ability to save as PTFD for better cross platform ability)
Ability to switch between rich and plain text encodings
Ability to edit any document, interprets unknown files as TEXT
Tons of preference options that are enabled and save their values
A wrap-to-window and wrap-to-page option identical to the one in TextEdit and Okito Composer
Ability to make document read only
Find/Replace panel
Zoom options
Customizable toolbar
Command-clicking on the toolbar button will toggle between the different toolbar views. Command-dragging a toolbar item will allow you to rearrange the toolbar or remove an item
Application icons more aqua-like, special thanks to all the people who contributed to this part
Also, the following issues are fixed in this release:
Fixed the incorrect depressed style buttons
Fixed the installer problems, now distributed as a DMG
Preferences are fixed, they now save when closed
About box is fixed, now does not obscure app icon
Speech toolbar item now toggles icon so it is easier to tell that clicking the button again will hide the speech pane
You can now resize the window both horizontally and vertically
You can download the beta by going to PowerText 1.0b5
Please post bug reports here
Let me know what you think!
Albert
