PPPoA ADSL for X... (hardware recommendation?)

Ok, i need to get a USB modem (USB) for my soon to be Cube. My current PPPoA Modem is of a PCI nature, sat in my "soon to be" redundant PeeCee. I had planned on getting a Alcatel Speedtouch one (the fishy kinda thing) ... but they don't seem so common place! Does anyone have any recommendations?!

I'd apprecaite ya input peeps!

Do a search for "adsl modem" on ebay, and you'll find what you're looking for. I don't know if USB DSL modems are supported by OS X, though, so I'll recommend getting a PPPoE modem (PPP over Ethernet).

PPPoE Doesn't work here ksv! ... i spent a LONG LONG time trying to get one working ... but to no avail!

Isn't it the same except from the last part between the modem and the computer?

Actualy it's not. The encapsulation of PPPoA and PPPoE packets is different.

I currently work for Alltel doing DSL tech support. When a customer wants to switch from oA to oE all we have to do is change the encap on their account. After a few seconds they should be able to connect under the new method.

Just out of curiosity have you tried to contact your ISP to see if PPPoE is supported?
Although if I had my way I'd be running PPPoA anyway. I've never been a big fan of oE.
