Preview problem since upgrading to 10.3.9

Ever since I upgraded to 10.3.9 I have noticed that every day or two, preview will no longer open images. So this means I have to delete the .plist file, which will fix it for a day or so more. I eventually ended up installing Preview again with pacifist, but it didn't fix it.
Has anyone ever heard of this problem? I mean, I am getting my copy of Tiger in a week, but I would like to try and find a solution while I'm still using 10.3.

I'm sorry to say that I don't have a fix for you. But I will say that in the future, you should avoid installing Apple's OS "updates" – The major OS "upgrades" like Jaguar, Panther and Tiger usually work fine, but these cruddy little "bug fix updates" cause more problems than they fix in nearly every instance! The only thing worse are the "Security Updates" which cause even more problems for many people.
 
Actually this is the first time I have ran into a problem like this after an update, I've been using OS X since 10.2.7.
But when it hits you, it hurts. :(
