previous system address book

Recently, I suffered a crash on my Power Mac G5 (running OS X 10.3.9). Fixing proved to be too costly, so I opted to get a new iMac (OS X 10.5.5). I was able to pull the hard drive from the G5 and hook it up to the iMac via firewire. I was trying to import the contacts from the address book, which I found under Previous Systems/Previous System 1/Applications ... but when I try to open the address book, the new system tells me I can't access that version of address book with the system I'm currently running. Is there a way to still access this address book?
