I'm running OSX Server 10.3.9 on a DP 2.0GHz Xserve. The only real services I'm running on it are: AFP, Open Directory and Print.
This morning, a bad job through the print queue and it consequently killed the print service. I need to get the print service running again, but I'm having trouble finding anything that can kick the service back on.
When I try to access the Print Service through Server Admin, I get the following message after a lengthy timeout period:
-- Try to refresh the view (192.168.123.3/Print). Report the problem to the administrator if it persists. (servermgr_print server-side plugin may have crashed) --
Using Remote Desktop, I logged into the server and tried to check the Printer Setup so I could clean all the jobs out, but I can't access that either--just get the pinwheel.
I'm not sure of the print service names, or I'd just try to kick them off again via command-line.
Anyone know the commands to do this? I don't want to reboot the server if I don't have to. I'd like to be able to recover from this error without kicking off all my users.
Thanks!
