printer hp 6p and mac 10.4.3

im trying to get an hp laserjet to work with mac 10.4.3 ibook g4
Hp laserjet 6p shows up in my print and fax preferences and i can send a comand to the printer through applications but the printer just prints a load of empty pages instead of the document i want it to print is there something im not doing right ???

Neither HP nor Apple supports the LaserJet 6p on the Mac. Neither MacOS 9 nor MacOS X is supported. However, it is fully supported by GIMP-print. Download and install GIMP-print.

Gimp-Print is installed with Tiger by default. Use the driver HP Laserjet 6 Series, CUPS + Gimp-Print.
