printer hp 6p and mac 10.4.3

m trying to get an hp laserjet to work with mac 10.4.3 ibook g4
Hp laserjet 6p shows up in my print and fax preferences and i can send a comand to the printer through applications but the printer just prints a load of empty pages instead of the document i want it to print is there something im not doing right ???

Add the printer in Printer Setup Utility with the HP Laserjet 6 Series, CUPS + Gimp-Print driver.

The 6P does not support Postscript. The 6MP is the Postscript version, it's got an extra board inside.

The symptom of printing out lots of pages with one line per page is a classic symptom of printing a Postscript file to a printer which does not understand it.
