Printer not responding anymore

I've always had my printer hooked up to the USB on the back of my monitor. And today it no longer responds from the port. I plugged it in to the front of my G5 and it worked fine. what gives??? how come it doesn't respond from the back of the monitor anymore?

Have you tried another device in the problematic port to see if it still works?
