Printer recommendations for Mac OS X

Depressed as hell
I have a Samsung ML-4500 laser printer that I like a lot, but it'll be gone with my PC tomorrow in the sale. I'd like to buy another Samsung since I'm very satisfied, but apparently even the new models don't come with the USB cable allowing it to work in OS X (I can plug it through my router but I don't want to have to).

I was wondering somebody here can recommend a printer, whether laser or all-in-one to buy. I'll be on the market for one within the next few weeks.

With 128 megs ram, the ibook was sort of a pain. With 384 megs ram, it's beautiful. 256 should be ok I suppose.

I like the computer personally but it's the programs like iTunes and the long-lasting battery that made me love it. Put Linux or Windows on this thing and it wouldn't be so nice.

Why not plug it into the router, using the Ethernet connection?
More reliable than USB.

Bob,

What you're saying is I should just go ahead and pretty much do the same thing I'm doing with the old printer. I see the point and that's probably what I'll do, but I'd honestly rather have it connect directly to the computer.

Makes no difference how it's connected, directly or through a router, unless it's because of distance or location.

I prefer ethernet myself. I use a Brother 1670N. Has Ethernet and USB. Ethernet (through router) is faster than USB on my setup.

I've been very happy with Epson printers, never had any problems with them, and Epson is on top of things when it comes to drivers. I've never used an Epson Laser printer though, just injet. You can buy a usb cable for any printer for just a couple of bucks
