Printer!

Our family got a Dell with Windows XP (yes, yes, I've tried converting them...) and also a Brother laser printer. I networked the printer through the Windows, which is connected to a wireless router, as is my iBook. All was working fine, and now, it is taking ages to send even text documents to the printer and sometimes prints a line of gibberish symbols.

I can't think of anything that changed, except that I was on some "suspicious" looking sites (you know, with lots of flashing banners, etc) that may have put something on my computer. Though it doesn't seem to be running slowly or anything and I didn't get any downloading messages.

I've tried reinstalling the drivers, and it still happens. Any thoughts?
 
Does it print properly when you print from the winxp box?
Does filetransfer between the two computers work fine?
Also add what is your os.
 
yeah, printing goes fine from the dell. i'm running os x panther on the ibook. as for file transfer, the windows shows up on the mac but the mac doesn't show up in "My Network Places" on the PC, even with "Windows Sharing On" in Sys. Prefs.
 
Since it's an ibook.. did you ever try to plug the printer directly to your mac?
About this network thing: did you ever search for the macs dns name in your "My Network Places"?
