My wife's Mac Book runs 10.5.8. She did something where she can no longer access any of her personal account folders. It says the user does not have sufficient privileges. I've tried a number of things based on other posts of similar problems. I don't know much about Mac, but I have some experience using Linux and Unix clones.
I tried Disk Utility to restore privileges twice.
I tried doing a COMMAND-I to changed privileges. Her (admin) username says she read-write privileges on her username folder, but each individual folder (ie. Downloads, Documents, Pictures, etc.) says it has "Custom" settings.
I've elevated her name to root. I've gone into terminal and tried to cd into a Pictures, Documents, etc. and it says I do not have privileges. When I try a sudo cd into one of these folders, nothing happens.
Any suggestions?
