Problem installing a D-Link ethernet card in old G4

Hi,

I've bought a D-Link DGE-528T Gigabit ethernet card to go in an old 400Mhz G4 (AGP) running 10.3.9. It claims to be Mac OS compatible and I've installed the supplied drivers but it doesn't see the card. The drivers install, it reboots but then there are no extra devices in System Preferences > Network. System Profiler doesn't see the card either.

I've looked on D-Link's site but there's nothing that helps and their tech support form doesn't work. I've also tried moving the card to another slot and checked it's seated properly. Anyone got any ideas??

Martin.

Update: I tried the card in a PC and it worked fine. I then finally managed to get the D-Link tech support form to work and got this response:

Similar to PCs, the MAC should just pick up the card. The card does not discriminate between computers. If you return the card for exchange, do not mention that it worked in a PC as they may not take it back. Having said this, you may very well run into the same problem with another card (most likely the MAC at fault). Contact Apple and see if they know of any issues with this product, as we do not know of any whatsoever.

I've had a quick look on the Apple site but not found anything. Any thoughts anyone?

Martin.
