Problem installing XP with Boot Camp

Hey guys,

Just hoping to get some advice here.. boot camp is running well, I have successfully made a copy of Windows XP with SP2, but when I go to install XP, two problems occur in the DOS screen, before ever getting to the blue windows screen.

First of all, I see
run-time error r6003
- integer divide by 0

Secondly, i'm not sure if this is normal or not, but it says:

No NTFS Volumes Found, exiting...

Then some stuff about Caldera, Inc.

Finally it gets stuck at

[DR-DOS] A:\>

But I can't type anything there..

ANY help would be appreciated.. if my post doesn't make sense let me know and i'll try to clarify.. Thanks!

This sounds like you're booting from a Caldera DR-DOS disk rather than anything coming from Microsoft. How did you put together that XP disk? ;)

I had seen that too, which led me to believe that he hadn't followed the directions from Apple's website, hence the link. :D

I followed the same directions when I did slipstreamed for the first time and Windows installed flawlessly on a loaner iMac I had at work. I didn't have to use DR-DOS...ever.

Well, in case you guys were curius about how this issue eventually got resolved.. here it goes.

I made another disc, using the same exact process, and it worked. My only guess is that the first disc I used had a small scratch or something, preventing the installer from working properly.. I don't know. No clue why Caldera Dos would run.. I don't even know what that is. Anywho, thanks for the responses ;)

Would that mean Microsoft used Caldera DOS as the base for their Windows XP installation discs instead of MS-DOS? :D

Still :confused: --> DR-DOS

Either way, I'm glad that you were able to finally get it working. :)
