Hi all,
I'm running the latest patched 10.2.x on a Powerbook G4.
Yesterday, after having the system work perfectly for a month, I could not log in using any of my 3 user names( all with admin rights). I had one setup to autoI could only login as root. Wondering if some library was changed. Only one new package has been installed, the microsoft office X trial.
I read on some posts about a security patch that changes /sbin/mach_init. To fix you need to restore from backup.
Have done that, no love. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Others have mentioned fsck, I don't know if the filesystem, or corruption thereof, would cause a user not to be able to login.
I also saw a message when I tried to change the user's passwd from the accounts control panel. It mentioned the keychain needs
to be changed by the user, and cannot change tha passwd I was attempting to change.
I'm contemplating an OS reload...
