Problem opening some webpages with cable connection

I just got connected today by RoadRunner on our new G5. We started off using Safari as our web browser, but noticed some sites would not open (ex. CNN, Netscape, Weather Channel). Other sites open fine and at speeds we would expect through cable. I'm now using Camino and the same problem occurs.

RR support had us do some troubleshooting and concluded that we may need to speak Mac support to resolve the issue. They think it may be a firewall or proxy setting?

Anyone have an idea?

Safari connects to these sites just fine. The problem lies in your setup. Make sure that you are configuring your IP address via DHCP.

are you connecting straight from the cable modem or thru the router....
if straight from the cable modem and then the problem is with your provider but if your connecting thru a router check the settings with this router and maybe this might have caused it, ie ip blocking or something.... sometimes unplugging the cable modem for a few minutes and powering it back on then might work too....

I checked the setup and it is set to DHCP. Also I reset the router. Just wondering if something in the settings is "checked" that shouldn't be. It just doesn't make sense for some to work others not?
