Problem:Sharing OS X Printer with Windows

I'm running Panther with Windows File Sharing and Printer Sharing enabled. I have been able to add the printer in Windows2000 with no problem.

When I print to the shared printer (physically connected to my Mac) it appears that the print job was successful but nothing ever prints. There are no error messages and no print job is in the printer queue on Windows.

Any thoughts?

On the PC, you need to select an Apple Laserwriter driver for the printer, not the one for the printer you have connected to the Mac.

If you really need to control printer settings using the correct driver on the PC, you can set up a "raw" print queue on the Mac (Raw means the Mac passes the input directly to the printer without any processing.). Use this guide:
