Problem with KVM Switch and Mouse Tracking Speed

Sogni

*gone*
So I finally have my home studio almost how I want it (minus that cool desk I was supposed to get! doh!), and I've connected my Mac and PCs to a KVM (USB) so I can use one keyboard 'n mouse for 3 computers (and a PC monitor between the two PCs, Mac still has it's own)...

I also now have a cheap USB Logitech mouse since my other Logitech Mouse's (?) right button stoped working, so the cheap mouse is not tracking as fast as the other mouse did...

So I go into System Prefs, Mouse Settings, and turn Tracking Speed all the way up. Perfect!

That is until I need to switch to one of the PCs, when I switch back to the Mac - the Tracking Speed is back to normal (middle) setting! It does this just about every time! It's annoying as hell! :(

Sometimes it even claims to still be "Fast" but you can feel it dragging behind again, I move it all the way down then all the way back up and it's back to the speed I want it...

Anyone know of a way to make it remember the mouse' tracking speed, or some other way around this?

When I bring the 19" PC screen from the office I'll prolly have my Mac and PCs seperate from eachtoher so only the PCs will go through the KVM...
But damn that's annoying! :(

I have my Mac and PC (and Sun, but only the monitor works) both running through an IO Gear MiniView USB KVM switch. No problems at all. I have a Kensington Mouse-in-a-Box Optical. I wonder if maybe it's the mouse driver. Have you installed the Logitech Mouseware? Personally I would recommend a Kensington mouse. They are great, the company is great, and the software is awesome, for both OS 9, X, and Windows.
