Problem with Mac-Help Viewer

I am a recent Mac convert and I was trying to use the Mac Help and the search and links on the first page don't seem to work. I tried the other help files for Safari and what not and they seem to work fine. I pulled up the Console to see if I could figure anything out and this is what is says when I click on any of the links on the Mac Help.

2005-12-22 17:34:29.143 Help Viewer[210] Uncaught exception - *** End of archive encountered prematurely at 400
2005-12-22 17:34:29.143 Help Viewer[210] *** Attempt to remove unrecognized exception handler 0xbfffdd20

I tried rebooting and it still doesn't work, I'm not sure what to do. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

As per this past macosx.com post and replies, try this - with respect to getting the 'Help Viewer' to work properly (and with 'Help Viewer' not launched) try moving the '~/Library/Preferences/' files

com.apple.helpviewer.plist
com.apple.help.plist

and the '~/Library/Caches/com.apple.helpui/' folder's contents (folders titled '00' and higher) to the trash can. [May I suggest you also (optionally) click on the 'com.apple.helpui' folder, do a 'Finder' 'File, Get Info' menu item or 'Command I' and click on the 'Locked' check box (to add a check mark)]

Now, open and try 'Help Viewer'.
