Problem with TCP/IP on startup

Please could someone help me with this problem.

When I start up my G4 MAC I cannot access any TCP/IP services until I first disable and enable Appletalk.

I do not know what the problem could be. Is it a corrupt preferences file.

I have resolved the problem

Although I was previously running Intergate I have stopped using it and thought i had removed it, but a process was still running which I have now killed and removed from the system through the terminal app logged in as root.

This has reslved the problem
